It is expected that Republicans in the MN legislature will put a constitutional amendment on next year's election ballot that would require voters to show a photo ID.

This is part of a nationwide effort by the Republican Party to suppress voting by groups that tend to vote Democrat.

Please see the info below, and pass it along to your fellow Minnesotans who need to understand that requiring a photo ID to vote...

...does not solve any problem of voter fraud,

...but does make it harder for military service members, seniors, and many others to exercise their right to vote.

See a quick slide show summary of "Reversal in Progress" here...
...or download the full report - with state by state detail - here.

See "Democracy for All? The Barriers of Voter ID" -a 17 minute video from the League of Women Voters...

...and the factsheet "Get the Facts: Debunking Myths about Voter photo ID" from LWV.

Here's a report by the civil rights organization AdvancementProject.org...

The NAACP - which knows a thing or two about defending the right to vote -

has a "Defending Democracy" web page, a 4 minute video titled Stand4Freedom and a 50 page report on the seriousness of the problem and on the fight to protect voting rights.

And finally, here's  a report from People for the American Way...
