March with the Dems in the Edina 4th of July parade!

This year, the Edina 4th of July parade will have two sections:

Section 1 will be for political party groups - it will walk the parade route beginning at 9:15 am.  Section 2 will be the general parade, which will kick off at 10 am.

In section 2, political parties are allowed to have only one car with two or three officers of the party.  In section 1, political parties are allowed to have as many people as show up! 

Please help the Democrats have a big, strong group in the section 1 parade!  Meet in the Edina City Hall parking lot by 8:45 am on July 4.  Wear an SD41 Democrat or other Democrat t-shirt.  Kids, strollers, wagons, and dogs on leashes are all welcome!  If you want to march with the Dems and don't have an SD41Dem t-shirt, send an e-mail note to chuckprentice@yahoo.com by July 2 and we'll arrange to get a t-shirt to you.  A convenient place to park is in parking lot just beyond the west end of the Eden Ave bridge across Hwy 100 (west of the Perkins restaurant).

On the agenda will be the question of filling the vacant Associate Chair position.  Since the Chairperson is a male (Del Smith), the current opening for Associate Chair must be filled by a woman.  If you are interested in running for this position, send an e-mail to b-milon1@comcast.net by July 1.  We will also be considering candidates to fill two open positions for Alternates to the State DFL Central Committee.  If you're interested in running for either of these positions, also send an e-mail to the same address by 7/1.
